FIREWORKS ORDINANCES

Shreveport

(k)

Dates and hours for sale, discharge, ignition or explosion of fireworks.

(1)

The sale, discharge, ignition or explosion of fireworks authorized for sale pursuant to R.S. 51:650 through R.S. 51:660 is prohibited in the city limits, except from noon June 16th through 10:00 p.m. June 20th, noon June 25 through 10:00 p.m. July 5th and noon December 15th through 10:00 p.m. January 1st of each year. The hours of discharge, ignition or explosion of lawful fireworks are restricted to those in subsection (2) of this section.

On the dates set forth in subsection (1) of this section, it shall be unlawful for any person to discharge, ignite or explode fireworks within the city limits between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.; provided, however, such activities shall not be unlawful on December 31 of each year between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. and on January 1st of each year between the hours of 12:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m.

Bossier

Under Section 38-294 of Bossier City’s Code of Ordinances, fireworks may be sold and discharged within the city limits of Bossier City from June 28 through July 5, inclusive, from the hours of 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Persons who discharge fireworks outside the legal time period can face fines up to $500 and/or 60 days in jail.

Minden

The sale, discharge, use and possession and the manufacture and storage of fireworks shall be prohibited within the city with the exception of allowing the placing, storing, locating or displaying of fireworks in conformity with the provisions of state law concerning fireworks, for the periods of 15 days prior to the Fourth of July and 15 days prior to New Year's Day.

Stonewall

Permitted date & hours for fireworks ignition is between June 25 & July 5th & between December 19th & January 2nd between the hours of 8am & 10pm except for December 31rst which allows until 1am.
