Bossier And Caddo Parish Food Stamp Program
The Bossier and Caddo Parish Food Stamp Programs, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and LaCAP, provide monthly benefits to low-income households and Louisiana residents at least 60 years old to assist in a portion of their food budget, respectfully. Residents ages 60 years old or older must receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) in order to be considered partially eligible for LaCAP. SNAP participants may also be eligible for Women, Infants & Children Program (WIC) offered by the Louisiana Department of Health. They provide meals to the elderly, ADRC, in-home services, information & referrals, ombudsman, legal services, senior center and dining sites, material aid, medical alert, recreation, personal care, wellness activities, NFCSP services, and support groups.

Families Helping Families Region 7 (of NWLA)
Provides a variety of information/services on disabilities that are available in the area and will refer to other organizations for more information. Some of the services they offer are Early Steps, training on education laws (IEP), transition services (ITP), LaCAN, lending library, support groups for families and self advocates, Peer to Peer supports, travel stipens and workshops.

Food Bank Of Northwest Louisiana

Salvation Army Social Services-Shreveport
The Salvation Army offers the following services: Merkle Center of Hope. Shelter for men, women and children is provided. Those in need must have a valid ID (school, driver’s license, military, or employee). They offer Veterans Lodge & transitional assistance program, social service office assistance, food assistance, programs for boys and girls (Boys & Girls Club), Saints Alive! Senior Adult Program, disaster services, Red Kettle Campaign, holiday assistance, utility assistance (those interested must half the cut-ff notice and make appointment 3 to 4 days before service is to be disconnected. Appointments are guaranteed; assistance is not!), and worship services on Sundays.

The Hub
Provides programs for women and children who have gone through sex trafficking and sexual explotation, called Purchase. The Lovewell Center is a membership based program and resource center designed to help its members "move out of poverty and homelessness." Members are served meals, attend classes, and earn point for use in The Lovewell stores.
