Description
The R.W. Norton Art Gallery cordially invites you to take part in a New Orleans-style jazz parade - a "second line" - through our gardens led by the Shreveport Second Line Brass Band.
The band, founded in 2009 by Robert Trudeau and Don Crenshaw, performs New Orleans street jazz and has played for funerals, weddings, and tourism events throughout Northwest Louisiana.
Kids will decorate a handkerchief to wave as they dance along with the band.
Food trucks Caddo Lake Que, Killa Dillas, and Sweetport will be on hand to add to the fun.
The museum will be open from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm and will feature arts and crafts for the kids as well as Carnival: Mardi Gras Then and Now, a special exhibit guest curated by local artist Emily Welch.
This family-friendly event is free and open to the public.
