It's FINALLY Back (now that it's starting to cool down)! This exciting and fun monthly Sunday in Caddo Common Park event has returned!

The Shreveport Regional Arts Council and Caddo Parish Parks and Rec have put together another great Sunday afternoon of entertainment, exercise, art and so much more!

Bring the WHOLE FAMILY out on Sunday, September 19th and enjoy live music in the Caddo Common Park throughout the afternoon from the Shreveport Regional Jazz Ensemble, one of my personal favorite local musicians- the amazing Joanie Nerrettig (solo) , and listen to live poetry by Poetic X and friends which is ALWAYS a treat!

Did you know he recently became our parish poet laureate? How COOL is that?!? You can see him perform in person for FREE!

Artists will be painting live on the lawn (plein air).  You can enjoy seeing our local artists Erica Branch and Linda Moss creating original works. Better yet, you could even bring your easels and paint alongside them. Who KNOWS what amazing art could come out of this event!

Bring the kiddos for FREE hands on art activities ALL DAY with Larry Taz Sanchez who ALWAYS has something cool to teach us.

Caddo Parks and Recreation and Walter B. Jacobs Memorial Nature Park will be on hand to present their “Reptile Round Up” featuring snakes, alligators, and turtles (oh my)!

Shreveport Green’s Mobile Market will be there to teach us all about Food Deserts. Are you a local gardener? Shreveport Green distributes produce to areas lacking in healthy food choices, and they are taking excess garden produce donations if you have extras that you don't know what to do with!

Plus, they will also be teaching kids how to plant seeds to start their own gardens at home.

Exercise with us. During the afternoon Yoga, Aerobics & Calisthenics and Line Dancing instruction will be free to the public! This will be a great way to get fit with friends and family.

12:30 pm - 1:15 pm: Yoga with Humm Yoga Studio

1:45 pm - 2:30 pm : Aerobics & Calisthenics:
Instructor: Darcell “Swoll” Francois with YOKAFELA/Plex.

2:45 pm - 3:30 pm: Line Dancing Class:
Instructor: Aaron Brown “The Man with the Big Hat” of the SB STEPPERS

You can also grab lunch from one of my favorite food trucks- Onos Hawaiian Grill and Kate’s Cones will be serving up goodies all day and I can't WAIT to have lunch on the lawn with my family.

Don't forget to put this on your calendars for Sunday, September 19 from 12-4:30pm and I hope to see you out there with your families!
