 Kick Off the New Year with a First Day Hike!

Bring the whole family and join us at the Red River National Wildlife Refuge for a refreshing start to the year with our First Day Hike! Whether you prefer to explore on your own or join one of our guided hikes, this event is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the beauty of nature and start 2025 off right!

 Date: January 1, 2025
 Times:

Self-Guided Hike: 9 AM – 3 PM
Guided Hike: 10 AM & 1 PM

 Special Activity:

Take part in our Photo Scavenger Hunt! Pick up your scavenger hunt list in the Visitor Center, snap photos of the items you find along the trail, and have fun exploring!

 Dress for Success:

- Check the weather and wear layers to stay comfortable.
- Don’t forget sturdy, closed-toe shoes for walking the trails.
- Pack a hat, gloves, or rain gear if needed.

 Stay Safe on the Trails:

- Bring water to stay hydrated.
- Stick to marked trails and walk at a comfortable pace.
- Keep an eye out for uneven terrain and wildlife.
