Description
Join us each week in February as we celebrate Black entertainers in film and explore contemporary issues in the Black community.
Data obtained by KSLA reveals alarming disparities in out-of-school suspensions and expulsions in Louisiana, showing that students of color are much more likely than white students to be suspended from school. KSLA spent months investigating these disparities and interviewed more than a dozen people to explore school discipline practices in Louisiana and across the country.
Join us for the KSLA News 12 original documentary featuring a post-screening audience Q&A with Caddo Parish director of Juvenile Service Clay Walker, Booker T. Washington High School teacher Crystalyn Whitaker and writer/producer Blane Skiles.
RFC's Black History Month series is presented by Caddo Parish Commission in partnership with the Shreveport Naacp. Each film in the series will feature an introduction from a community member and a post-screening Q&A. All tickets are $5.
