Lumpy Grits: A Literary and Lyrical Mix will be having a stage reading for Black Girl along with other Cinderella stories that have been adapted for the stage.

Billie Jean is trapped in a life that leads nowhere with

 two envious and toxic sisters. 

Her mother lacks affection and shows love towards her "foster daughters". 

Billie Jean ultimate dream is to become a ballet dancer 

but she has to fight multiple prejudices to keep her identity.

 With the help of her grandmother, Billie establishes some 

connection with her mother and continues to pursue her dreams.
