Description
The first week in July isn't just a celebration of Independence Day, it's also a celebration of local art! Join us for the July artwalk on Wednesday, July 5 from 5-8. Start at Minicine? at 846 Texas Ave., location of 'not and, and so', a show featuring the works of paintings by Allison West and Jon Mackey, along with an installation by John Christopher Martin. Enjoy the beautiful ASIAN Gardens before walking to Central Artstation, 801 Crockett to view art work and talk to artists. Pop across the street to the Fairmont Apartments at 726 Cotton St. The Fairmont's Common Street-facing commercial space will host artists such as Marilyn Couch, Robert E Trudeau and others. Walk around the corner and down Louisiana to the wonderfully-restored KCS Cafe. Tour the historic space and enjoy a History in 5 talk by Liz Swaine about Shreveport's railroading past, Sketch the City with Mischa Farrell Architect, LLC and the AIA Shreveport and see the work of even more artists! We will have food trucks along the route. The event is free and all-ages friendly!
