Cherokee Trace Drive-Thru Safari - Jacksonville, TX
Open Monday - Saturday from 10am - 5pm and Sundays 1pm - 5pm during the summer months. Check the website for seasonal hours outside of summer and always call before you go so they can update you on the weather! This is located in East Texas, 12 miles East of Jacksonville, TX. Children's Aquarium at Fair Park - Dallas, TX
Located at Fair Park, Dallas near the Ferris Wheel and open daily at 9am with last admission at 4:30pm and close at 5pm. There is free parking at the building itself. Rates and more information HERE.
Chimp Haven - Keithville, LA

Cypress Zoo - Benton, LA
Located at Cypress Black Bayou Recreation Park in Benton, this zoo is open Tuesday through Saturday from 8am - 3:30pm and is closed Sunday and Mondays. Read more HERE.

Fort Worth Zoo - Ft. Worth, TX
Open Monday - Friday from 10am - 5pm and from 10am - 6pm Saturdays and Sundays. Wednesdays are half-price admission days, but be awares that in extremely hot temperatures, some animals will retreat into their habitats to shelter from the weather. Gators-N-Friends - Greenwood, LA

PaPa Simpson's Farm - Arcadia, LA
PaPa Simpson’s Farm allows visitors to pet a few baby animals. The female visitors even get to kiss a pig. A cross section of farm animals are exhibited and visitors are educated about a few basic facts of each animal.
