This summer, Shreve Memorial Library is encouraging patrons of all ages to help “Color Our World” during the library’s annual Summer Reading Program.

The 2025 theme invites everyone to embrace the beauty of art in all of its forms and enjoy a colorful tapestry of experiences all summer-long. Pre-registration for the library’s annual Summer Reading Program begins Monday, April 21 on Beanstack.

The “Color Our World” Summer Reading Program is open to all ages. Patrons can participate by logging books online and attending a large variety of interactive programs this summer at Shreve Memorial Library.

Children, age birth to 10, are encouraged to read ten books over the summer, teens age 11 to 17 are asked to read at least five books, and adults are tasked with reading three books.

As patrons log books online, they will receive digital badges for each book read. Those who complete their 2025 Summer Reading Program masterpiece will receive an assortment of prizes including bags, books, pencils, erasers, and other promotional items.

To further encourage participation, Shreve Memorial Library is providing participants opportunities to win small prizes throughout the summer for meeting reading goals.

Children and teens can track their reading progress in the library by placing their name and stickers on Reading Star Charts, a visual representation of participation and the number of books read.

As they meet reading goals, they will receive up to five raffle tickets for entries into prize drawings held throughout the summer.

Children and teens can earn additional raffle entries by attending library programs. Adults who complete the Summer Reading Program will also receive an entry into the raffle drawing.

Raffle drawings will be held for prizes such as passes to local attractions, gift cards, educational toys, and more.

Shreve Memorial Library patrons can sign up for the 2025 “Color Our World” Summer Reading Program beginning Monday, April 21.

Pre-registration can be completed online through the library’s Beanstack site at https://shreve-lib.beanstack.org/reader365

Registered participants can begin looking books on Monday, June 2 and have until Wednesday, August 20 to log their books for completion of the summer reading program.

From Monday, June 2 through Thursday, July 31, Shreve Memorial Library will host a variety of live, interactive programs inspired by the “Color Our World” theme, exploring art, creativity, and expression.

This summer, Shreve Memorial Library will welcome DAT Does the Trick, Walter B.
