Audible Stories is offering hundreds of free titles for families

Audible Stories will be open and free for everyone, according to Audible’s website.

The company has created stories.audible.com to be a place where anyone literally anywhere can enjoy unlimited streaming of hundreds of titles for kids and families for free.

Listeners can access the site from their computers, tablets and smartphones. Enjoy selections in six languages – English, Spanish, French, Italian, German and Japanese.

There is no log in necessary and you don't have to be an Audible member. Visit Stories.Audible.com and start listening and enjoy!

During this time, Bossier Parish Libraries will offer online card renewals and the option to receive an e-card to access these online resources.

CLAIBORNE PARISH LIBRARY SYSTEM

"Monday, March 16, 2020 - Saturday, April 11, 2020

Effective today, the Claiborne Parish Library will suspend all events until further notice. Our hours will also change. Please call us if you have any questions at 318-927-3845. We will post updates to operations as we monitor state and national health recommendations.

CORONAVIRUS PRECAUTIONS AT THE LIBRARY

1.      All upcoming programs scheduled in the multipurpose room & conference room are canceled.

2.      No fines will be assessed on materials checked out between March 16-April 10, 2020.

3.      Consider using our online services such as Overdrive to borrow materials. See the link on our website."

No fines on materials checked out between Monday, March 16 and reopening to the public.

Call the library (318-927-3845) to reserve your book.

To check out electronic books:

Go to Overdrive at https://greengoldlibraries.overdrive.com/

Click the “Sign In” at the upper right of the page. Select “Claiborne Parish Library” from the menu that appears.

Enter your library card number and PIN.

You can browse books by subject or search by title, author, or type (e-book, audio book).

Click “Borrow” on the book you would like.

You can check out up to five books. Go to “My Account,” then select “Loans” from the dropdown menu.

For each book, click the appropriate “Read Now” button to send to your Kindle or to read in your browser.

If you click “Read on Kindle,” a link will open up to download the book from Amazon.


SABINE PARISH LIBRARY SYSTEM

In response to Governor Edward's Proclamation Number 33 JBE 2020, all branches of the Sabine Parish Library will be closed until further notice.

As always you can check out online through Libby and Overdrive and use any of the Libraries electronic resources. WiFi will continue to be available, however, please be safe if you are accessing it by practicing social distancing by maintaining at least 6 feet of space.

Please do not return any materials to the Library during this time. Due dates and late fees will not be observed until further notice.

Staff will be onsite to answer the phones & emails with any questions you may have.

Access to Overdrive, Libby & all online resources will still be available as always.

SHREVE MEMORIAL LIBRARY SYSTEM

"The Shreve Memorial Library Board of Control voted today to close all Shreve Memorial Library branches effective tomorrow, March 17 through Monday, April 30. While the libraries are closed, all overdue fines will be suspended and items currently checked out will be automatically renewed. We thank you for your understanding and patience as we work together to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our area. Please remember to take advantage of the many great resources available through our e-branch. For more information, CLICK HERE."

The reopen date is tentative pedning development and guidelines set forth by government and health officials.

All Caddo Parish Public School students have a virtual student library card that gives them access to the library's e-branch resources. If you're not sure of your student's virtual library card number (or you've lost your own Shreve Memorial Library card number), simply complete the form at http://bit.ly/2xelzqL and they will be happy to get you set up!


WEBSTER PARISH LIBRARIES

"Due to the recent COVID-19 virus statistics for Webster Parish, the Webster Parish Library System will be temporarily closing all branches to the public until further notice. Staff and patron safety remains a top priority for our system. We ask that checked out materials not be returned until we reopen. All accumulated fines will be waived during this time period of closure.."
