In this day and age, it’s important to bring our kids up to be curious and independent, and to help them develop their ability to solve problems. These are skills your child can develop while having fun as they host a lemonade stand on Lemonade Day in Louisiana on Saturday, May 4th.
Lemonade Day is a program designed to teach children life skills as they learn how to start and run their first business- a lemonade stand! Over 1 million kids have participated in Lemonade Day since 2007.
Through the Lemonade Day program, your child will learn to create a budget, set goals, and also gain confidence in their entrepreneurial abilities. Recommended ages for Lemonade Day range from 5 - 12, but the free resources can be tailored for any age level.
After going through the program, self-guided with a parent or mentor, children across Northwest Louisiana will set up their stands on Saturday, May 4th, and sell their lemonade to neighbors, friends, and supporters throughout the community.
Over 85% of participating parents say they feel their child’s self-esteem has improved and that their child has shown an increased understanding and knowledge of saving and philanthropy.
Your child can even test their lemonade recipe before the big day at The Best Tasting Lemonade Contest on April 27 at 2 p.m. at ArtBreak 2019, the largest student arts festival in the south. Prizes will be handed out including Raising Cane’s gift baskets, gift cards, and even a custom wooden lemonade stand.
The experience your child will receive is invaluable. Register them today at www.cohab.org/lemonade-day
