Coming November 27th to the Centurylink Center is the HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS? Is anyone else excited? It's going to be a great show and so much fun for the entire family.
What makes the Harlem Globetrotters different for any other basketball game? It's the silliness and fun that the team offers. They love to mix their signature style of show basketball into a game that gets the audience excited. I love that they include the community that they are in by inviting local teams and groups to be part of the show. The team also does lots of charitable work and gives back to those who may need a hand up. I know that I am excited to go and have some fun with my family.
In working with the event promoter I have learned some fun facts about the team and it has been insightful. For instance, did you know that the shortest player on the team was 5'2"? His name was Jonte “Too Tall” Hall. And funny enough the tallest was Paul “Tiny” Sturgess who was 7’8”.
Did you know that they have also lost 345 games? Honestly for the longest time I didn't even realize they were playing real games. But they have won 27,000 games so I don't think their reputation will take a hit.
They also have many celebrity fans and some who have become honorary Globetrotters: The celebrities include Bob Hope, Nelson Mandela, Henry Kissinger, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Jesse Jackson, Whoopi Goldberg, Pope John Paul II, and the only actual basketball player on the list, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
It's pretty fascinating to get to know more about the team and I hope you'll take the time to learn more. I'll be doing a Facebook giveaway next week (the week of November 5th) that will ask for some of these facts and information from my article so be sure to check out what all they have going on.
