Don't miss out on the memories of the State Fair of Louisiana

By Pamela Kennedy October 19, 2017

I have so many great memories from the State Fair of Louisiana. When I was a child my mother sang for Truckers for Christ--yes that was a thing--and every year they would set up at the State Fair right next to the Dr. Blood exhibit. While sitting watching the singers perform I was intrigued watching Dr. Blood come out and "greet" his guests and really wanted to go into the haunted house but was way too young. So my brother and I would go explore the midway and play the games. On some days we'd get to ride the rides, I was pretty chicken so didn't ride any of the big ones. Somewhere floating around is a picture of me in the Shreveport Times as a toddler stuffing cotton candy in my mouth. Those are memories that I'll always carry with me and remember the fun times with my family.

Now it's several years later and the fair has changed but one thing that has not changed is the memories you make with your family. It's exciting to hear the sounds and see the sights when you go through the gates and the food--oh the food. I have to get a corndog to start with then try out some of the unique foods that only the fair offers and I still eat that cotton candy but no pictures please.

I would love to give one of my readers a chance to enjoy tickets to the fair but really need your help, can you refer a friend who doesn't already subscribe? Send them this article and have them fill out our form with your information as well.  I'll pick a winner from one submission and both you and your friend will win a family 4 pack each for admission to the State Fair of Louisiana. Then you can create memories together!

Only one email address per new submission but you can refer more than one friend for more chances to win. I'll pick the winner on Tuesday, October 24th and announce it on Facebook and via email. You each will have 48 hours to claim your prize so be sure that pamelak@macaronikid.com is on your safe senders list.

Good luck and thanks for sharing Macaroni Kid Shreveport-Bossier!
