A recent announcement from Sci-Port about its temporary closure while “rebranding” the popular venue will affect our BPL patrons who check out Sci-Port passes from the library. Library Director Heather McEntee stated that, “Due to new management and renovations, Sci-Port will be closed from Labor Day, September 4, until December 31 and therefore our passes will not be available for checkout.”
Sci-Port’s Board of Directors informed members who purchased season passes about the changes taking place saying, “In the interim, we hope you will take the opportunity before September 4 to visit Sci-Port before our temporary closure.”
Offering more reassurance to patrons, Sci-Port Board member Rich Lamb is quoted in the Times Thursday, August 17 edition saying, “Those who bought membership passes will have their pass period extended.”
BPL will keep patrons informed about any further updates or changes concerning Sci-Port passes through this column, on the library website at www.bossierlibrary.org, and Facebook.
Building a Better Bossier!
