Create a Success Board

By Cristie Cass February 7, 2013
I was having an online chat with one of my friends about some of the Pins on Pinterest I had tried. Things that seemed easy peasy to the writer of the DIY idea sometimes just did not come together for me, but there were also some I was able to rake and run with and come up with something even better.

My friend suggest that instead of focusing on my Pinterest failures (which I have seen documented by others in funny memes), I create a Pinterest Win Board or Success Board. I loved this idea so much that I started thinking about all the things I could document as wins.

Think about it…as moms how hard are we on ourselves that we can’t do it all? We never have time for this or that, we make sacrifices and how many times do we think in some way we are failing? But how great would it be to instead be reminded of our successes? Maybe this could be some kind of revolution in motherhood; instead of documenting out failures, we document what we do right. Did you eat carrots for a snack instead of a cookie…WIN! Did you drink a glass of water instead of soda…WIN! Did you make awesome cupcakes for the bake sale…WIN! Did you teach your kid fractions…SUPER WIN!

I can’t tell you how many dinners I have messed up (although I’m sure my significant other can) but why beat myself up over it when I have made so many more awesome dinners? I started doing this myself and I feel so much better about my day than I do when I focus on the things I don’t succeed in.
